Dear Fry,

You will have seen from recent messages that the

situ tion in Hong Kong has become a little troublesome

owing to the disturbance in China. In a recent telegram

the Governor says that the presence of a cruiser would be

very useful and that he would urge that one should be sent

to Hong Kong as soon as it is possible to spare it from

the other centres disturbed. If it is possible to spare

it Mr. Amery would be glad if arrangements could be made

for a cruiser to be sent to Hong Kong - Perhaps you would

be good enough to let me know what chance there is of

this as soon as possible in order that we may inform the

Governor by telograph.

T. Fry, Esq.

Tours sincerely,

W CA
